Welcome to Dyrn
It is an Age of Discovery, and a time of great change
From the Wicked Vales to the north, goblinkin forces amass in the shadow of a long-dead necromancer. To the north west, strange beasts and aberrations are driven from the Esoteric Wildlands, a land of wild and malignant magical energy. To the south west, rumours persist of a new Makh that will reunite the scattered Bochol tribes of the steppes. On the archipelago to the east, the crusading Dragonborn, traditional enemies of the continent of Terrenos, have turned their gaze across the sea to a newly discovered land, full of opportunity and danger, preparing an invasion that will cost many lives.
In the center of these lands lies the Second Tyrrethi Empire, whose fragile and hard fought for peace is beginning to unravel. The delvers shelter in their mountain safeholds, while the half-elven peoples born of ancient conflict settle on the border between the northern and southern lands. Halflings of all races move among the capital cities of the various Prinicipalities, carrying omens of war. The Bitterdale Lords mount open rebellion against the Empress and unrest simmers in the newly conquered state of the Sommelands. To the north and the east, the Recreant States of the Triumvirate and Tor Ammar continue to defy her will. While Imperial Law still holds within the mighty Tors, in the borderlands between the states of the Empire, great danger awaits the unwary.
In the shadow of these threats, dark wings blot out the stars as the dragons return, and a force beyond understanding threatens all beings of reason.
Changing Skies
The skies above Dyrn are constantly in flux. For long periods of her history, the number of stars in the night sjy has slowly grown as new stars glimmered into existance.
One Sun, Two Moons

Many Peoples, One World
The ancient Gods created the Nephilim, and from them are descended the Giants and Dragons. Eladrim refugees fled to the mortal realm, bringing with them their Human wards and Goblin slaves. Delvers were forged from rock and iron deep beenath the earth as rebellious druids awakened beastfolk across the world.
Lost Empires
The first humans established the empire of Bright Nythria, mastering magic with the teachings of the God of Magic, Arcyne. When Arcyne was vanquished, Nythria fell, plugning the world into a dark age thatn would last millenia.
Bloodsoaked History
The past of Dyrn is besieged by conflict. From the first war, where the avatar of Ythradun, the Pale Dragon, killed the God of Magic, to the Dusk War, where Elves occupied most of Terrenos, to the various internecine wars of the Tyrrethi Empire, peace is fragile, and easily broken.
Celestial Scale
When warring Gods nearly destroyed the world, the newly hatched Selyne, God of Protection gave of her body to create the Celestial Scale, barring immortals from the mortal realm.
