Sofia Morozov

An affluent torgovetsia from the Triumvirate Cities to the far north, Sofia lived a sheltered life until the day her beloved sister collapsed due to an undiagnosable and untreatable malady. As she began coughing up shards of some sort of glass or crystalline substance, Sofia watched as her parents ruined themselves financially in search of a cure.

Eventually her parents exhausted all avenues open to them and accepted Alisa's fate. But Sofia could not do so, and when the gods and the arts of mortals could do no more for her sister, she turned to forbidden knowledge to try and save her, delving deep into the occult.

Sofia's quest has driven her apart from her parents and led her across the world. After being taken by the wizards of Great Zesh as a prisoner to aid in their research, Sofia managed to escape when their caravan was attacked by the dragon Zitonai. In the aftermath of the battle she was taken prisoner again by Syr Galinndan, and that misunderstanding still rankles between them.
